This tour covers a little over a mile and encompasses 300 years of history. You'll encounter vestiges of colonial-era plantations, connections to our founding fathers and the nation's first infrastructure project, the Civil War, descent into Jim Crow and displacement, the Gilded Age, and the buildout of the community we see today. The struggle for Civil Rights and and partial home rule are also part of the local history.
